The Challenge
Once a quiet suburb in the shadow of its sister cities, Chesapeake has transformed into a thriving city and an emerging tourism destination. With the majority of the nation’s population now between the ages of 25 and 45, the moment was right to evolve the brand—launching a campaign that highlights Chesapeake’s standout offerings in a voice that speaks directly to today’s traveler.

The Solution
Through research and past campaign data, it became clear—Chesapeake needed a more dynamic vibe to match its evolving identity. From chef-led restaurants and local seafood joints to global flavors and a booming brewery scene, the city’s culinary offerings are thriving. Add in a vibrant ale trail, one-of-a-kind boutique and antique shopping, the urban energy of Summit Pointe, and year-round festivals and events, and it’s clear Chesapeake is anything but sleepy.

To showcase it all, we developed a younger, hipper voice that speaks directly to today’s consumer—paired with playful, analog-inspired scrapbooking visuals that amp up the energy and grab attention in a scroll-happy world.

Results
This campaign is already outperforming expectations. Video content is delivering engagement rates 2 to 1 compared to previous efforts, and click-through rates across programmatic, Google, and Meta ads are up 20% year-over-year.

The impact goes beyond the screen—lodging tax, retail revenue, and food and beverage sales are all on the rise, and events are consistently selling out.
